LA MAISON BLEUE

ABOUT LA MAISON BLEUE

LA MAISON BLEUE is a pastel-hued folly that sits on the shore of the Red Sea, pieds dans l’eau, in the artist haven of El Gouna. It was created as a seaside holiday home par excellence by life-long friends Amr Khalil a renowned antiques collector and interior designer, entrepreneur Samih Sawiris and Olivier Sednaoui, one of Egypt’s most highly regarded contemporary architects.

Blending influences from Byzantium to Ancient Greece and early Art Nouveau, the mansion is composed of a series of decadent interior spaces and just thirteen guest suites. They are dressed in a palette of rich materials, exceptional antiques, notable artworks and dazzling crystal chandeliers which enhance the imaginative play of light and shadow within the classical proportions of the house. Landscape artist Louis Benech cushioned the house, its marble-lined pool and saltwater lagoon, amid fragrant Egyptian flora, while executive chef Vincent Guillou oversees an elegant farm-to-table menu informed by seasons. It’s an utterly romantic spot for an intimate celebration.
