PRIVATE HOMES

Egypt Beyond is the gateway to some of Egypt’s most beautiful, fully serviced private homes for those wishing for a more personal stay.

SOMA BAY

A beautiful five bedroom 600sqm family home with stunning views of Soma Marina. Tastefully furnished with unique pieces, antiques, precious textiles and art, the family home is set over 400 sqm of living rooms and expansive terraces with views on the Red Sea and the mountains framing Soma Bay and just a short walk to the beach. There is a direct connection to the adjacent guest house (a duplex with roof terrace) with three additional bedrooms. In close vicinity on the other side of the Marina there is a second duplex of three bedrooms and two spacious living rooms, with  roof terraces enjoying the view of the turquoise blue waters of the Red Sea.

BEIT MICHAEL

Beit Michael is the Siwa home of a well-known London Art Dealer. Completed in 2006 and made entirely from Karshif - a traditional building method made of mud and salt originally championed by the Egyptian modernist architect Hassan Fathy - and given a contemporary feel by Egyptian French architect India Mahdavi. Like its neighbour Adrére Amellal the house is predominantly illuminated by candlelight but includes a meditation room with a James Turrell installation as well as two site specific Richard Long artworks made in situ. Featuring seven bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and surrounded by the oasis and a swimming pool containing only spring water. The Great Sand Sea, the largest dune ocean of the Eastern Sahara is just 2km away.

SAKKARA

A light and airy modernist villa with stunning views directly over the ancient Abu Sir Pyramids and the Sakkara Pyramids in the distance. Owned by a gallerist, this family home has been tastefully furnished in Egyptian minimal style and filled with contemporary art and design. Situated within a large garden with a 15m pool and adjacent pool house this is the perfect property for a group of friends or families wishing to enjoy the calm just outside of Cairo.

VILLA ZEINA

Zeina Aboukheir, the founder of Al Moudira, lived at Villa Zeina for 22 years. Her elegant former home is now available for guests, who, while being totally private, can also enjoy the many amenities of the hotel. This beautiful villa, with its hand-painted frescoes and coloured glass windows, is filled with Middle Eastern art and antiques. With five individually decorated double bedrooms, four of which open on to the courtyard, the villa has all the charm of a bygone era, enhanced with modern luxuries. The secluded pool has a barbecue and an informal dining area, while a dedicated private butler is available to meet all your needs.

VILLA NUBIA

The recently constructed Villa Nubia is a stunning residence set in a large, carefully tended garden. Inspired by Villa Zeina, and of a similar size, it shares spacious rooms, antique floor tiles and fittings, exquisite furnishings, and a magnificent marble pool. Villa Nubia has five large bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, and an elegant dining room. With a private butler service available, this luxury villa is ideal for a family or a group of friends.

VILLA CASBAH

Villa Casbah has five spacious bedrooms, each offering total privacy as they are self-contained units. Three of the rooms have magnificent domed ceilings, while the other two provide access to inviting rooftops. All open out on to the picturesque pool and its surrounding terrace, making this villa particularly suitable for business groups or groups of friends.

BEIT AL FANANEEN

This secluded villa consists of two spacious suites and a separate bedroom, which is set in the large, well-tended garden. Beit Al Fananeen translates as ‘House of the Artists’ and it has hosted artists from all over the world, including those who painted Al Moudira’s beautiful frescoes.
